Door of my tent Boulehar. On the Gulf Keros, May 25th
Description
A view from inside a tent at Bolayir on the Gallipoli Peninsula, looking out onto rugged coastline and the ocean. This drawing is one of 26 illustrations by Mrs Marianne Young (also known as Marianne Postans) prepared for her book 'Our Camp in Turkey, and the way to it', published by Richard Bentley, London 1854. Due to the outbreak of the Crimean War they were not included in the original publication.
