Description

1. (55 sec) the new US Navy dive bomber, the Curtiss SB2C Helldiver 2. (1 min 25 sec) A Japanese attack on a US aircraft carrier in the Pacific is beaten off by the accuracy of the American gunners. This action has been identified as the strike on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands 4-8 December 1943 by TF 50 commmanded by Admiral Charles A. Pownall. Shown is the attack by Nakajima B5N2 Navy type 97 "Kate" Torpedo bombers on the USS Lexington. Spectacular scenes of "Kate/s" hit and bursting into flames. Though the narrator states that there are two separate attacks shown it appears that this is the same attack but shot by different cameramen. 3. (1 min 17 sec) POW from German camps welcomed home by their loved ones 4. (1 min 46 sec) Harry Dahl, a nine year old boy, entertains US troops in Australia.
