Allies blast Truk
Description
The largest Japanese Naval base outside of Japan is attacked by carrier aircraft from Admiral Mitscher's TF-58. The attack was co-ordinated with General MacArthur's land operations in New Guinea. Scenes include gun camera footage of attacks on the defending Japanese aircraft, airfields, installations and ships. Scenes of an SBD Douglas Dauntless making a carrier landing with one wheel down and carrier crew attending to casualties.
