Bismarck convoy smashed!
Description
Cinesound Review newsreel of RAAF and USAAF action against the Japanese convoy in the Bismark Sea on 2 and 3 March 1943 resulting in the loss of twenty two ships and fiftheen thousand Japanese troops. Includes shots of air attacks on ships and rafts by Beaufighters of 30 Squadron RAAF. The pilot Damien Parer filmed by standing directly behind him in the cockpit is 260535 Flight Lieutenant Ronald Frederick 'Torchy ' Uren, DFC.
