A light hearted view of the conditions on and operations of an 18th century fort which guards the approach to an important port. The fort is manned by mixture of units and services which include the Royal Artillery, Royal Engineers and Royal Navy. Shows water supply, electricity generator, ammunition magazines and crew's quarters and messes. A demonstration of the fort's anti-aircraft and anti-ship defences in a simulated attack.
