The nine hundred
Description
The story of the airlift of nine hundred wounded Yugoslav partisans during the summer of 1944. A Yugoslav Army Corps was surrounded by the Germans and the wounded could not be moved for the break-out from the pocket and would not be left behind. The air lift was carried out in daylight by the Balkan Airforce based in Italy. Shot of Air Vice Marshal Elliot CB, CBE, DFC, commander Balkan Airforce. The airlift was successfully carried out thus releasing some 3,000 stretcher bearers for combat.
