RAF flying artillery (CBS 1)
Inaccessable army targets such as the Panzer Group HQ, radiolocation stations, armoured transport well behind the lines, enemy gun positions, observation posts, such as the factory chimneys north of Caen, ferry stations used for transporting supplies across the Seine, marshalling yards, etc. all these targets represent a definite danger to our ground troops they must be destroyed before they can advance. To do this the RAF call in their "Flying Artillery" in the shape of rocket carrying Typhoons. There is tremendous amount of ground work to be done before these machines can become airborne and the ground crew are doing a magnificent job working constantly through the long summer days so that the Army will have air support when and where they most need it. Various shots showing ground crews preparing rockets for fitting to aircraft. Fitting rockets to mainplane of Typhoon. Take-offs and operational material of various targets being attacked.[transcribed from dope sheet]
