Mr A T Sharp with 2591 Private (Pte) Oswald Bayd Wilson, of the 29th Battalion; 2823 Pte Allan William Frier of the 14th Battalion and 5195 Corporal (Cpl) Norman Edward Sharp MM, of the 56th Battalion (seated centre) in the centre of the maze at Hampton Court, London. Pte Wilson enlisted on 24 July 1915 at Lillydale, Vic and returned to Australia 10 September 1917. Pte Frier was born in Geelong, Vic, enlisted on 28 June 1915 at Melbourne, Vic and returned to Australia on 16 July 1917. Cpl Sharp enlisted on 18 January 1916 and returned to Australia on 2 June 1919. Cpl Sharp was awarded the Military Medal on 14 January 1919 for his bravery at Bellicourt in October 1918. From the collection of Mr Alfred Thomas Sharp. Mr Sharp was the Commonwealth Immigration Officer of Victoria and was based in the London Office during the First World War. He and his wife hosted and visited many soldiers, particularly those from Victoria, who were recuperating in London. He also photographed many Australian graves in English cemeteries. His photograph collection relating to this period in London was bequeathed to the Memorial in 1922 after his death. During his time in London he was a member of the British Volunteer Regiment, serving with the Willesden Battalion, Middlesex Volunteer Regiment.
