American Independence Day parade and march past, Tokyo
Description
Independence Day was celebrated by the Americans in remembrance of the signing of the US Declaration of Independence. This year's celebration was joined by the men of BCOF as freedom loving peoples of the world. At the Imperial Palace Plaza, Tokyo, a parade was held. General D MacArthur took the salute. General R L Eichelberger, Commander of US 8th Army and 34 (VX20321, VX80578) Lieutenant General Horace Clement Hugh Robertson; Colonel Foster, Bricosat Commander; Sir Alvry Gascoigne, British Ambassador, were among the many dignitaries present on the dais.
