Description

Troops of the Republic of South Korea Army demonstration squad displayed ability and bravery in demonstrating to a large gathering of Australian troops the correct method of fire and movement as applied to platoons or sections in action using American weapons. Rifles M1, 57mm recoilless rifles, light and heavy mortars, grenades (all live ammunition). Troops were well within the danger area of mortar fire and at times supporting machine gun fire was passing within feet of personnel taking part in attack demonstration. The first portion of the demonstration was a line party of three men. The careless soldier not observant and showing himself carelessly to the enemy is shot. The remaining 2 members of the patrol cooly and efficiently set about the task of destroying the enemy situated in the bunker using fire and movement to the fullest extent.
