A televsion tribute to veterans of the Second World War showing how the men and women of that war carried on the traditions formed at Gallipoli. The show includes some archival footage but is mainly shot live in the studio with Frank Legg ex 2/48th Battalion, speaking to veterans about their experiences. Veterans featured; Jack Harris of Orange a Tobruk veteran who tells the story of Cpl Edmondson VC; Able Seaman Alan Whetton who served aboard HMAS Vendetta; Neville Emmett (Tiger) Lyons who served on HMAS Perth during the battle of the Sunda Strait and a prisoner of the Japanese; Harry Kerr an ex 76 Squadron pilot at Milne Bay; Ron Christian MC and Bar on the Kokoda campaign; John Burns MM ex 2/27 Battalion Kokoda campaign; Major General Heathcote Hammer on the 9 Division at El Alamein; Colonel Charles Gladstone Weir 2/24th Battalion the defence of Wau; Sqn Ldr Jack Frederick Leggo DFC ex 617 Sqn and the Dambusters raid; Vivian Bullwinkel on the Banka Island massacre and as a prisoner of the Japanese. Frank Legg closes the show remembering SX7089 Sgt William Henry (Bill) Kibby VC, SX7791 Pte John William Theodor (Chris) Christerson, SX6935 Pte George Thomas (Blue) Brown and SX9064 Hugh Francis Treloar all 2/48th Battalion who were killed during the war.
