Prelude to glory (The Anzac story)
Description
A brief history of Australia from its discovery by Cook, intending to depict how (white) Australia was formed as an independent country, and how its people were moulded by their environment. It describes how the first AIF arose, formation of the first Anzac Corps and its embarkation for Egypt, and the sinking of the German raider Emden by HMAS Sydney. Devised and produced by Frank Hunter in co-operation with the Australian Broadcasting Commission and Supreme Sound Studios. Introduced on camera by James M McGrath the then director of the Australian War Memorial (1952-1966).
