Movietone newsreel item on a Heavy Artillery Regiment of the United States Army on manoeuvres. Shows the regiment's 240mm M1 Howitzers and M33 Prime Mover artillery tractors which are conversions of the M3 Grant tanks and self propelled cranes . The regiment on air evasion practice, assembly of the guns by cranes and the guns in action. The 240mm M1 was the largest towed field piece used by the US Army during the Second World War.
