Studio portrait of 1412 Driver Walter James Hutcheson, 2nd Field Artillery Brigade from Albert Park, Victoria. A 24 year old driver prior to enlisting on 21 August 1914, he embarked for overseas with the Ammunition Column from Melbourne aboard HMAT Shropshire (A9) on 20 November 1914. Driver Hutcheson died in hospital in Alexandria, Egypt on 17 August 1915 from traumatic rupture of the duodenum and is buried in the Chatby Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Alexandria.
