The Right Honourable J B Chifley, Prime Minister of Australia (standing at the microphone) addressing troops over the Australian Amenities Services broadcasting station 9AB. He paid a surprise visit to troops in the Lae area on Christmas Day. In the background to the right is Major General H C H Robertson, General Officer Commanding 6th Division (2).
