These prisoners of war had been released from Kyusai (?Kyushu) on the southern island of Japan and hitchhiked 200 miles to reach the occupational troops. They are having their first ride in a motor car for three years. Identified, left to right: Private Allan Scott of Blacktown, NSW; Pte Amos Richard Skinner of Camden, NSW; Pte Stanley Keith 'Stan' Rixon of Prahran, Melbourne, Victoria; Robert Lowe of Annandale, NSW; Walter Wright of Paddington, NSW (probably NX41945 Walter John Wright).
