Burma or Thailand. 1945. An emaciated prisoner of war (POW) 1426657 Gunner J P Bradley, 7 Coast R A showing the effects of malaria and beri-Beri. he had suffered six bouts of malari ain six weeks, three of wqhich were without quinine. during this period he did only one day's work and was kicked by a Japanese soldier which broke his ribs. His condition is typical of many of the Allied prisoners of the Japanese at the end of the war. (Donor B. Theobald)
