Group portrait of the first members of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and Women’s Royal Australian Naval Service (WRANS) from the Naval Wireless/Transmitting Station, Canberra (to be later commissioned on 1 July 1943 as HMAS Harman). These servicemen and women transferred in late 1942 to the nearby Molonglo Receiving Station opened to carry traffic from Whitehall, Haliflax and Bombay Fort.
