Description
Lancaster aircraft ED 541 "A" of 467 Squadron RAAF. When a new crew took over this aircraft they refused to fly the aircraft until the mascot was painted out. This was not done. However, after return from the first raid the paint had completely peeled off. The crew subsequently accepted the aircraft in its original state complete with mascot. The aircraft successfully completed 43 operational trips totalling 385 hours but was lost on its 44th trip over Berlin on the night of 3-4 September 1943.
