Formal portrait of 287 Stoker Petty Officer William Edward Willis wearing the Naval Reserve uniform. Stoker Petty Officer Willis served aboard HMCS Protector during the Boxer uprising in China, 1900-1901. He enlisted for First World War service in August 1914 and served aboard HMAS Protector. Stoker Petty Officer Willis died of illness in Fremantle on 22 October 1915.
