Informal portrait of Major (Maj) Bertram Alexander Gordon Watts, 20th Divisional Artillery (Imperial Forces) (right) on top of a pyramid with an unidentified officer. Watts later transferred to the AIF, where he was awarded a DSO in 1916, and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col), 4th Field Artillery Brigade. Lt Col Watts was killed in action on 10 April 1917. Watts previously served in the 5th Victorian Mounted Rifles during the Boer War.
