Studio portrait of 425551 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Cornelius Dominick Ryalls, 8 Squadron, RAF, of Gladstone, QLD. Flt Sgt Ryalls enlisted for service on 28 March 1942 and trained as a wireless operator. On 28 June 1944, Flt Sgt Ryalls was conducting operations with six other crew members aboard a Vickers Wellington aircraft over the Gulf of Aden when the aircraft went missing. Flt Sgt Ryalls was declared missing presumed dead in May 1945. He was aged 29 years at the time of his death.
