Description
A member of the Afghan National Police and an Afghan man stand amongst the aftermath of a suicide bombing outside the Khogyani police barracks on our poppy eradication convoy, Afghanistan 2008.
This image was taken by photographer Stephen Dupont who, along with journalist Paul Raffaele, was travelling with the counter narcotics convoy when it was hit by a 12 year old suicide bomber. Dupont suffered superficial wounds and shock from the impact but continued to document the devastation of the bombing before being transferred to the US air base in Jalalabad for treatment.
