Description
Two bodies lie outside the Khogyani police barracks; the victims of a suicide bombing targeting an Afghan National Police counter narcotics convoy travelling through the region.
Photographer Stephen Dupont records this incident in his diary entry for 6 May 2008, "Streams of blood flowed in everywhere direction, making patterns in the dirt".
This image was taken by photographer Stephen Dupont who, along with journalist Paul Raffaele, was travelling with the counter narcotics convoy when it was hit by a 12 year old suicide bomber. Dupont suffered superficial wounds and shock from the impact but continued to document the devastation of the bombing before being transferred to the US air base in Jalalabad for treatment.
