Description

Mervyn Spencer interviewed by Georgina Binns in Newtown, Hobart. A bandsman with the 12th Battalion band, he mentions receiving news of the sinking of the German Cruiser SMS Emden by HMAS Sydney. He also recalls Mena Camp, training and Gallipoli. He played the tenor horn with a band of 28 men and practised every day.
