Studio portrait of 298 Private (Pte) William Henry Hobbs, 3rd Reinforcements, 2nd Machine Gun Company, of Boort, Victoria (originally of St Albans, England). Hobbs was later promoted to Lance Corporal (L Cpl) and served with the 1st Battalion Machine Gun Corps. L Cpl Hobbs was killed in action on 25 August 1918.
