Studio portrait of 451 Staff Sergeant (S Sgt) Wallace Arthur Tweedie, 12th Infantry Brigade Headquarters. A clerk prior to enlisting on 23 September 1914, S Sgt Tweedie embarked for overseas service aboard HMAT Ceramic (A40) on 22 December 1914. After serving in the Dardanelles and France, Sgt Tweedie fell ill with Malaria and returned to Australia in February 1918. He died of illness on 24 August 1918.
