Description

A sign displayed above the HMAS Parramatta kiosk. Each RAN frigate named after an Australian city displays a street sign from that city in a prominent position inside the ship. One of a series of photographs taken aboard HMAS Parramatta by Mal Booth, Head of the Australian War Memorial's Research Centre, as part of the Memorial's Curators in the Field program. This program continues the Memorial's tradition of documenting Australia's experience of war, through observing the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and collecting records, photographs, oral histories and objects for the Memorial's National Collection.
