Leading Seaman Boatswain Mate (LSBM) John Walter in one of HMAS Parramatta's Rigid Hull Boats (RHIBs) for which he and Petty Officer Boatswain (POB) Shane Nesbitt braided the rope nose protector. One of a series of photographs taken aboard HMAS Parramatta by Mal Booth, Head of the Australian War Memorial's Research Centre, as part of the Memorial's Curators in the Field program. This program continues the Memorial's tradition of documenting Australia's experience of war, through observing the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and collecting records, photographs, oral histories and objects for the Memorial's National Collection.
