Katekar talks about his impressions of the officers in teh battalion, joining the AIF, Syria then returning to Australia, standard of training, impressions of the 2/16th, 39th and 2/14th and Brigadier Potts, arriving in New Guinea, intelligence when the 2/27th climbed the track, forced march to Myola, Efogi, relief of the 39th, dispositons at Mission Ridge and why A and B companies were in front dispositions, Japanese lantern parade, before the battle, John's patrol, battle for Mission Ridge, water shortage, Japanese firepower, Cooper's handling of the battle, communication between companies, decision to withdraw
