Description

Lieutenant Colonel Charles A. W. Sims SX9455, OC A Company, 2/27th Battalion, interviewed by the author Peter Brune as research for his books on Second World War New Guinea conflicts (Brune catalogue 48 and 49). Lt Col Sims was born on 12 July1916, in Sydney NSW, and became an electrical fitter before joining the army. He enlisted on the 8 October 1940, in Woodside SA. Lt Col Sims was a awarded a Military Cross for his actions in 1942 and was discharged as a Major in 1945.
