Description

Lieutenant Colonel Charles A. W. Sims SX9455, OC A Company, 2/27th Battalion, interviewed by the author Peter Brune as research for his books on Second World War New Guinea conflicts (Brune catalogue 62) . Lt Col Sims was born on 12 July1916, in Sydney NSW, and became an electrical fitter before joining the army. He enlisted on the 8 October 1940, in Woodside SA. Lt Col Sims was a awarded a Military Cross for his actions in 1942 and was discharged as a Major in 1945.
