Studio portrait of 8883 Driver (Dvr) William Eric Hill, 20th Company AASC. A plumber of Nailsworth, SA, he embarked from Adelaide aboard HMAT Afric (A19) on 26 May 1915 with the 14th Company Army Service Corps, 4th Light Horse Brigade Train. On 12 November 1915 he received a bullet wound to the head and subsequently died. He was buried the next day in Shrapnel Valley Cemetery and the service was conducted by Chaplain 4th Class Thomas Pearce Bennett.
