A view of the Mena House Hotel, Cairo, with the Great Pyramids of Giza in the background. The Mena House Hotel was occupied by the 2nd Australian General Hospital (2 AGH) from early 1915, and offices adjoining the back of the hotel were used by the 1st Divisional Headquarters from late 1914 to 1915. In June 1915 the hospital staff were transferred to Gezira in Cairo; Mena House continued as an auxiliary hospital.
