Description
Group portrait of British, Australian, and New Zealand soldiers and nurses on riding horses. Identified, first from left, is Staff Nurse Dora Frances McCormack. Staff Nurse McCormack enlisted in the AANS in June 1917 and embarked for overseas service in Salonika aboard RMS Mooltan. In Salonika, Staff Nurse McCormack served with 42nd General Hospital and 66th General Hospital until January 1919 when she travelled to the United Kingdom and embarked for Australia aboard HMAT Nestor. Staff Nurse McCormack passed away in a private hospital in 1936, aged 51 years. The other soldiers and nurse have not been further identified.
