Studio portrait of 414436 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Alfred Walter Teerman during training with the Empire Air Training Scheme. He was later posted to 460 Squadron, RAAF. Flt Sgt Teerman was killed while on a mission in Lancaster W4939, which was shot down on the night of 21/22 June 1943. He is buried in the Rheinberg War Cemetery in Germany.
