Studio portrait of 294 Trooper Charles Henry Lane, 9th Light Horse Regiment. He sustained a shrapnel wound to the left thigh near Walker's Ridge at Gallipoli on 28 June 1915 and was evacuated to the hospital ship Sicilia. He died of his wounds the following day and was buried at sea. His name is recorded on the Lone Pine Memorial.
