Informal outdoor portrait of four Australian servicemen of the 2/16 Battalion. Identified, front row, left to right: WX3636 Lieutenant (Lt) Alan Campbell Haddy of Perth WA and WX2945 Sergeant (Sgt) Peter Budge Dungey of South Perth. Sgt Dungey was killed in action in Syria on 7 July 1941 when he volunteered to cut barbed-wire defences with two other members of his unit. Lt Haddy was Mentioned in despatches in December 1941 and posthumously in 23 December 1943. He was killed in action in Papua New Guinea on 7 December 1942. The two men standing are unidentified.
