Description
Grave site of Dublin Fusiliers and Durham Light Infantry who were killed when Boer commando General Louis Botha led an ambush on the armoured train they were travelling aboard on 15 November 1899. Winston Churchill, then a war correspondent, was travelling aboard and was captured along with many of the train's contingent. The words on the grave have been formed from spent cartridge cases.
