Studio portrait of 6069 Driver (Dvr) Hugh (Hughie) McLauglin Carson, 3rd Field Artillery Brigade. A farmer from Harrisville, Queensland, Dvr Carson embarked from Melbourne on HMAT Wandilla (A62) on 9 November 1915. He died of wounds in France on 29 May 1918, aged 23. Dvr Carson was wounded at Franvillers when he and fellow drivers were attempting to rescue their horses from wagon lines which were being shelled.
