Studio portrait of 7460 Sergeant (Sgt) William Henry Jones, 2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station, of Sydney, NSW. An X-Ray operator prior to enlistment, Sgt Jones embarked with the 1st Reinforcements from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ceramic (A40) on 23 November, 1915. He spent the majority of his service as an X-Ray assistant with 2nd Australian Causality Clearing Station at Blendecque, France. Sgt Jones survived the war and was discharged on 20 August 1919. The National Collection also holds x-ray tubes used by Sgt Jones during his service.
