O5309 Pilot Officer (PO) John Beverley Halley, 77 Squadron, RAAF, standing beside Gloster Meteor MK8 aircraft A77-134 named "Snookes". PO Halley commenced his service in Korea on 13 October 1952. He was listed as assumed missing on operations, presumed dead, on 11 February 1953. On this day PO Halley was flying Meteor A77-46 on an armed reconnaissance mission in the Sinmak area of North Korea. He was aged 26.
