Hand coloured studio portrait of a bridal party, taken at the wedding of Emily Maude Allan to B1949 Signalman Colin William Abraham, RAN. Mr Andy Thompson and Mr Roy Porter attended the groom as best man and groomsman, Miss Nancye Mercer (left) served as the chief bridesmaid and the bride's sister, Kathleen McWilliams (nee Allan) (right) was the matron of honour. Kathleen Allen first wore the wedding dress on 8 March 1941 when she married 130282 Leading Aircraftman Percy McWilliams. The dress was worn again for a third ceremony by Muriel Gwendoline Pike (nee Allan) when she married Robert Pike in 1947. The wedding dress and the matron of honour dress worn by Kathleen McWilliams are now held in the Memorial's National Collection at REL47844.001 and REL47845.001.
