Rob's Room at Phoenix (my Kit)
Description
Depicts a view inside Major Rob Sander's room, who was serving with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) in Afghanistan. On a wooden stand in front of the door is the artist's helmet and body armour. An Australian flag hangs from the door. The rooms were modular in construction and about half the size of a shipping container. Stephen Delaney (1954-) is a Canadian Army Reservist and his regiment is the Governor General's Foot Guards in Ottawa. He has completed two tours of Afghanistan; in 2006 and 2010. Delaney has also trained as an artist at the Ottowa School of Art and Emily Carr University in Canada.
