Lebel Model 1886/93 Rifle
Description
Lebel Model 1886/93 M93 bolt action rifle. It has a blued action and a polished two piece bolt with a straight cocking arm. Receiver marked on the left side 'Manufacture D'Armes St Etienne Mle 1886 M93.' The barrel knox form is stamped 'MA S 1915.' Wooden butt and fore end that has an end cap with a stacking pin near the muzzle. The rifle is fitted with an Australian pattern leather sling.
History / Summary
The Lebel Model 1886/93 rifle was the standard infantry weapon used by the French army during the First World War and continued in service during the Second World War. Donated by the Government of France in the 1920's.
