History / Summary
The P.u.W 12.5 kilogram aircraft bomb (Pruefanstalt und Werft der Fliegertruppe) was the smallest of the family of P.u.W. bombs developed for the German airforce in 1916. The P.u.W family of bombs was unique in that high grade steel was used for the bomb casing and it was one of the first bombs developed that incorporated aerodynamic design in its construction. Approximately 2,000 P.u.W. 12.5 kg bombs were made for the German Air Force.
