Autographed studio portrait of Captain (Capt) Frank Hardy Phillips, 4th Australian Light Horse Regiment. Capt Phillips embarked with the unit from Melbourne aboard HMAT Wiltshire (A18) on 19 October 1914. He was awarded the Military Cross for exceptional gallantry and devotion to duty for his actions on the 30 September 1918 in Dammascus. Phillips survived the war and was discharged on 23 September 1919.
