Matilda tanks of C Squadron, 2/4 Armoured Regiment, rumble along the beach at Kofi village, in New Guinea, on route for Karawop plantation where they will continue their role of support for the infantry in the final drive for Wewak. Identified personnel are:- QX22835 Trooper Charles Murray (Morrie) Hillard (sitting on the turret wearing a slouth hat-loader operator) (1); NX21532 Corporal Walter George (Wal) Mason (sitting on the turret wearing a beret-crew commander) (2); NX161990 Trooper Raymond Walter Grimston (sitting on the front of the tank-gunner) (3); VX111430 Trooper Thomas Dove (Tom) Pearce (driving the tank) (4).
