"SS Medic: Cape Town SA June 1919." HMAT Medic transported repatriated soldiers from England to Australia. The mount of the photograph has been signed by soldiers from different battalions. The signatures include those of 3718 Private (Pte) Frank Leslie Corpe and 6020 Pte Douglas Grant, an indigenous soldier. Both men served with the 13th Battalion and along with other members of the battalion were taken prisoners of war (POWs) on 11 April 1917 at Riencourt, Germany. The image is from the collection of Frank Corpe.
