Studio portrait of WX2945 Corporal (Cpl) Peter Budge Dungey and WX3636 Cpl Alan Campbell Haddy, both of 2/16 Battalion. With the rank of Acting Sergeant, Dungey was killed in action on 7 July 1941 when he volunteered to cut barbed-wire defences with two other members of his unit at the Damour River, Syria. Cpl Haddy was mentioned in despatches in December 1941. Later promoted to Lieutenant (Lt), he was killed in action in Papua New Guinea on 7 December 1942. Lt Haddy was posthumously mentioned in despatches on 23 December 1943.
